It is very important for military personnel to have good orientation in the area. In this case, a compass will be useful for navigation. A compass works due to the interaction between built-in permanent magnets and the Earth's magnetic field. Its needle points north and south under any conditions.
This model is a classic map compass with a mirror. The transparent casing allows information to be read directly on the map. For more convenient work with maps, parallel lines are marked on the compass casing.
